ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MANGO & KEFIR SMOOTHIE BOWL

This beautiful smoothie bowl is tangy, delicious and a great morning booster to start the day with a happy gut. Its key ingredients, mango and kefir, are packed with anti-inflammatory properties and nutrients that promote healthy bacteria in the gut. Kefir is a fermented food with a consistency comparable to drinking yogurt and studies have shown that it boosts your immune system, aids in digestive problems and improves bone health. Mangos (known as the “kings of fruit” in some parts of the world), contain so many health boosting nutrients; they are high in antioxidants that protect your cells against free radical damage and are a great natural source of Vitamin A and C which boost your immune system.

Ingredients

SERVES 6

• 1 cup fresh or frozen mango
• ¾ cup plain unsweetened kefir
• 1 tsp honey
• ½-in piece of ginger
• ½ tsp ground turmeric
• Granola
• Bee pollen (optional)
• Fresh fruit for topping


Method

Simply place all of your ingredients into a food processor or blender. Blend until you have a smooth and creamy consistency. Pour your smoothie mix into bowls and top with granola, fresh fruit and bee pollen (skip this step to make it vegan), then serve and enjoy!
